Cognella® Presents Cognella® Press
A new trade imprint featuring nonfiction books with contemporary viewpoints
San Diego, CA – August 9th, 2016 – Cognella® today announced the launch of Cognella® Press, a new imprint that publishes thought-provoking and intellectual nonfiction titles with modern perspectives.
“Cognella Press is the perfect progression of our brand,” said Cognella CEO Bassim Hamadeh. “Under our other imprints, Cognella Academic Publishing and Cognella Custom, we develop teacher-driven, student-centric classroom materials that help both instructors and students succeed in their academic endeavors. But we know that learning doesn’t stop after one leaves the classroom. We’re passionate about encouraging lifelong learning and the constant pursuit of knowledge, which is why Cognella Press was born. Through our titles, individuals can seek quality insights on a broad range of topics that help fill knowledge gaps many of us have.”
The first offering under the new imprint is Tiger in the Office: How to Capitalize on Opportunity and Launch Your Career, available now. The book, written by Mike Callahan, employs the metaphor of a tiger in the workplace to show readers how to take control of their career and take action toward professional success and personal fulfillment. The title is intended to resonate with the younger, recent-grad audience and anyone willing to take the risks needed to take control of their career journey.
On August 30, 2016, A More Perfect Union: Connecting the Dots Between Today’s Politics and the History of Political Thought by Antonio Campbell will join the catalog of Cognella Press titles. In this timely book, Campbell asks profound questions regarding contemporary U.S. diplomatic policy as it relates to the rich political discourse of the past, drawing deep connections between modern politics and the political thought that shaped the nation.
Following Tiger in the Office and A More Perfect Union, Cognella Press plans to initially release 5-7 titles per year, first in hardcover, then paperback.
“The most exciting aspect of Cognella Press is that we’re publishing engaging titles that put readers’ wants and needs first,” said Natalie Lakosil, editor of Cognella Press. “We’re strategically developing titles that reflect what the reader wants, not just what booksellers want to sell. And in doing that, we’re meeting a very unique need in the current nonfiction market.”
